2 December 2021 – Agrobiotechnology Talk Series (14) Pollution in Agricultural Fields: What Are We Actually Eating?

Agrobiotechnology talk (14) ‘Pollution in Agricultural Fields: What Are We Actually Eating?’ was held on 2 December 2021. In this talk, Prof Martin Tsui from the CUHK, delivered an overview on contemporary chemical pollution in the modern world, especially a few emerging pollutants in the agricultural field. He also went over factors increasing the exposure of crop to these chemicals and provided an estimation of risk to our health due to the food consumption as well as a few remediation approaches. The talk was well received by a total of 50 participants.

Agrobiotechnology talk series aims to promote agrobiotechnology and enhance understanding of the potential applications of agricultural products. The target audience includes international scholars, researchers, agricultural industry as well as the general public.
